Streets of Paris

We caught the very fast ICE train from Rudi's house to Gare de l'Est Paris

We walked down to the Pompidou Centre
Then across the Seine to Notre Dame

Notre Dame Chalice

There were lots of Police everywhere

Steps down to the Seine

We walked along the Seine

I thought this end of the island was Point Nerf but Pont Neuf is the bridge from where this photo is taken. The Island grew after the bridge was built in 1578.

We walked up through the Lourve on our way to the Champs Elysees

The pyramid is the entrance. We didn't visit the galleries till our last day.

Every lamp post was ornate.

The blue sky showed up the gardens beautifully.

Window shopping along the Champs Elysees.

When we got to the Arc de Triomphe there was a military parade

Flag bearers.

Don't shoot.

Military precision

Next we caught the metro up to the Sacre Coeur Basillica at Montmarte which is the highest point in the city.

View over the City

Busker at the Basillica

Waiter at Montemarte cafe.

Reflecting on a Parisian Lifestyle on the way down from Montmarte.

Next day we hired velib bicycles.

These horses regretted messing with the turtles at Luxemburg Gardens.

Riot police for trade union and African pride marches through the streets.

Blue Eiffel sky

Tower over bridge and river

Three couples lazing on steps

Indigenous exhibits at Musee du quai Branly
