German Countryside

The next day we woke up in Rudi's beautiful garden.

We went for a paddle in the Rhine.

It was even warm enough for a swim.

We had a picnic on the beach.

By the time we got back to the boathouse I was exhausted.

Rudi carved this Indian to guard the boathouse.

Rudi had a BBQ. Stephen's friend Ulla came.

There were rabbits in the field behind the house but we were not sure they'd come out in the photo.

We had a singalong.

The next day we had a walk around some gardens at a palace near Mannheim.

Lion.

A persian folley.

A Roman folley.

Rudi took us for a climb up a mountain overlooking the Rhine valley.

There was a fantastic blackberry wine villa at the summit.

There was a country palace.

Swan.

We went to visit some of Rudi's friends from the BBQ who ran the church in the neighbouring village. On the right of the alter was a medieval catholic relic.

We got to climb the bell tower and look out across the village.

We got to hear the fantastic organ.
